ServimedHaiti is a private Haitian nonprofit health organization, registered in Cabaret, Haiti, in 2006, to provide health services and education to Haitian communities. In 2008 ServimedHaiti provided a water relief program after devastating hurricanes. ServimedHaiti provides critical medical care for Haiti's populations. With the support of international partners and friends, ServimedHaiti is growing capacity to address the significant need for medical care in the post-quake environment.
ServimedHaiti was founded by Joseph Marcel-St. Louis Demertine, MD. Dr. Marcel has worked as a health volunteer in Haiti since 1984. He participated in the establishment of the Minnesota International Health Volunteers maternal and child health program in Belladere/Croix Fer, Haiti, serving a population of more than 50,000 people. Ms. J.C. Petit-Frere, MBA, is the Executive Director. Servimed Haiti benefits from the collaboration of a volunteer staff including a team of physicians led by Dr. J-A Lacroix, Associate Physician.
